The Alberts Deli, Café and Catering Service
Serving the locals of Richmond with delicious food
Owner and Manager
After 15 years of managing restaurants and Gastro pubs, in 2008 Cathy-Sue found the little cheese shop known as Vivian’s tucked away in Richmond which had sadly closed and stood empty. Her love of France meant that as soon as she saw the original Parisian art nouveau shop front she knew this was the place for her. In November 2008 she opened The Alberts Deli to the delight of the locals, giving them a corner store to buy high-quality basics but also somewhere that the community can meet over a coffee or breakfast to chat and catch up. Having always lead front of house teams, opening the deli found her spending more time cooking in the kitchen and evolving the breakfast and brunch menu to suit the loyal locals. She is passionate about giving the customer a really personal, service that feels more like eating at a friend’s house. This owner/operator is as hands-on as it gets and everything in the deli is something that she has chosen carefully.
Nina Casey joined the deli in 2012, having spent her early career in the jewellery business. She then moved into restaurants and event catering of all kinds as a Chef. Nina’s effervescent personality and genuine care for the deli and its customers shines through and the local deli customers have embraced her from the beginning.

We have become the favourite Breakfast spot in Richmond, serving the creamiest scrambled eggs and crispy bacon, Eggs Benedict or Royale and of course our renowned Full Alberts!
Pop by and try out our freshly cooked pastries or toasted bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese. We will make your coffee just the way you like it and you just relax!
Home Made Food
All of our home made food selection is prepared by Janice Timothy and her talented team at our sister deli in Chiswick and delivered to us every morning.
The range of dishes changes daily but always includes sausage rolls, quiches and frittatas, salads, soup and seasonal main courses.
All our eggs and poultry are free range and we only use high quality ingredients from selected suppliers.
Cakes to die for!
It takes a strong discipline to walk past the cake display and not be tempted by one of the delicious brownies or blondies (white chocolate brownies), as well as the carrot cake with passion fruit icing, orange and almond cakes, chocolate mousse cakes, and plenty more.
Normally at least two of the cakes on offer daily are gluten free.
We can make cakes to order so if you have a celebration coming up, pop in and have a chat about us making something rather special for you.
As well as the café, we have floor-to-ceiling shelves stocked with delicious products that you can buy to pep up your own home cooking. From smoked paprika to truffle oil, organic tagliatelle that melts in the mouth and some unusual sauces and condiments that will transform a simple meal or BBQ into something really special.
Let us cover the basics as well as your gourmet occasions with our Norfolk eggs, old school bacon from Wicks Manor Farm, bread baked hours from being bought from Millers Bakery and of course for your evenings in our carefully chosen wine selection from Jascot’s Wine Merchants.
Everything on our shelves at the deli has been chosen carefully and we endeavour to use artisan producers who are passionate about their specialised field and work on a small scale.
Size is not everything: small is quality, large is just more.
Home Made Food
Our fresh homemade food is made by Jan and her team at our sister deli in Chiswick and changes everyday. We always have some soup, quiche and frittata, at least two salads, main courses (meat and vegetarian) which can be taken home and heated up for an easy but still home-cooked supper.
For a snack, Jan’s sausage rolls have a loyal and rather addicted following, or try her spinach, feta & pine-nut rolls for a veggie option.
All our wines (still, sparkling and Champagne), lager, cider & ale are organic. There are plenty of wines under £10; Sam Smith lager & ale are proving real favourites, and Dunkerton’s sweet cider or Cidre Brut from France offer some refreshing Summer drinking.
So pop in and browse: shelf after shelf full of quality and delicious products. Take a seat - inside or out - and grab a bite!
We can provide food for a wide range of occasions, from intimate dinner parties to weddings, relaxed family get togethers to champagne & canapés.
From teaspoons to tables, we will help with the hire of anything that you need for your party, all delivered to your house and collected afterwards. And you don't even have to worry about the washing up!
We can provide platters of sandwiches for office lunch meetings, with mixed fillings and mixed breads, served on foil platters, available for collection from the deli.
We require a minimum of 2 days' notice for this service.
If you have a last-minute order, please call us and we'll offer you as much of your order as possible, but some items on the menu may not be available.
